Crashes > of the R.A.F.

During the approach to Düsseldorf, the Wellington, Z1477, came under fire from several anti-aircraft batteries and was hit.
The exact background to the crash cannot be clarified at present, nor can the exact location of the crash be determined. It is highly probable that the aircraft crashed in Hürth-Hermülheim near Theresienhöhe.
All crew members were killed in the crash and buried in Cologne's Südfriedhof cemetery.
