Crashes > of the R.A.F.

During the bombing raid on Cologne, Halifax W7919 came within the range of several anti-aircraft batteries, was hit and crashed in an open field east of Hürth-Kalscheuren.

As the local records of this crash were lost during the war, it is no longer possible to pinpoint the exact location of the crash. Only the surviving flak diary records indicate the crash site as "east of Kalscheuren".

The entire crew died in the crash and were buried in Cologne's Südfriedhof cemetery.
