Crashes > of the R.A.F.

During the approach to Düsseldorf, Lancaster I, W4111 was hit by flak and crashed in the meadows south-east of Zündorf. The crash site is described as "south-east of Zündorf, near Sürth".
(In the post-war reports on "Allied aircraft crashes in Porz", however, this crash is not noted).

All seven crew members died in the crash and were buried in Cologne's Südfriedhof cemetery.
