PB621
Crashes > of the R.A.F.
During the attack on Cologne, the Lancaster III, PB621 was fired upon by flak and so badly damaged that it crashed in Siegstraße in Rodenkirchen.
The crew was only recovered dead and buried in a common grave in the cemetery in Rodenkirchen. They were placed in the same grave in which the crew of the Lancaster PB120 had been buried a few days earlier. This fact made the exhumation of the dead buried as "unknown airmen" difficult in 1949.
I am currently unable to provide precise information about the location of the crash or about damage caused by the crash.
