HR342
Crashes > of the R.A.F.
The Mosquito HR342 was on a patrol flight to the area around Cologne. In the Rommerskirchen area, it grazed a power line while flying low, crashed in an open field between Ökoven and Sinsteden and burned out completely.
The charred bodies of the crew were buried as "unknown soldiers" in a field grave near the crash site. In November 1948, the bodies were exhumed, identified and reburied in Rheinberg Cemetery.
