The Hampden I, AD905 was fired upon by flak during the attack on Cologne and crashed at around 23:37 in Cologne-Longerich, Ginsterpfad.
The pilot, Fl/O Michael Thomas Adams survived the crash and became a German prisoner of war.

Fl/Sgt Box, Sgt Hartlett and Sgt Morgan were killed and buried in Cologne South Cemetery.
