Crashes > of the R.A.F.

During the attack on Duisburg, the Hampden AD873 came under heavy flak and caught fire. It crashed in Königsdorf on the Düren-Cologne railway line and exploded on impact. ( A very exact crash site cannot be determined at present).

None of the four crew survived the crash. Their bodies were recovered from the completely burnt-out aircraft and buried in Cologne's South Cemetery.
